Abstract

A spectrophotometric determination of total chromium is presented for water samples with high concentrations of fulvic acids. The method is based on the classic diphenylcarbazide procedure after oxidation of samples with ammonium peroxysulfate. Fulvic acids do not interfere at concentrations up to 100 mg/l. Detection and determination limits are 0.012 and 0.036 mg/l, respectively.
